EUA Vernetzungstreffen: connecting across Alliances

Europäische Bündnisse, die – wenn mancher Zukunftsvision geglaubt wird – langfristig zu einer Institution werden sollen: Die europäische Hochschulinitiative hat viele Namen (EUA, EUN, etc.) und ist in erster Linie komplex. Sowohl der langfristige Einfluss auf den europäischen Hochschulraum als auch die bildungspolitischen Auswirkungen sind unklar. Inzwischen stehen über 50 Allianzen in Konkurrenz um die EU-Fördermittel und bemühen sich neben einem eigenen spezifischen Profil um Lösungen für europaweite Studiengänge und -abschlüsse. In Deutschland gibt es eine besonders hohe Dichte dieser EUAs – nahezu jede Allianz hat ein deutsche Mitgliedshochschule.

Eine der EU-Vorgaben für solche Allianzen besteht in der Einbeziehung studentischer Perspektiven und Stimmen. Für einen Austausch zum Stand der studentischen Beteiligung und die Vorstellung unterschiedlicher Konzepte laden wir gemeinsam mit dem Student Board der Allianz EUt+ in Darmstadt zu einem Vernetzungstreffen ein. Das Tagesprogramm wird in den folgenden Wochen hier ergänzt und richtet sich an studentische Vertreter*innen in Allianzgremien sowie Mitglieder der ASten/StuRae der Allianzhochschulen. European alliances are to become one institution in the long term – if the envisioned futre is to be believed. The European Higher Education Initiative has many names (EUA, EUN, etc.) and is first and foremost complex. Both its long-term influence on the European Higher Education Area and its impact on education policy are unclear. More than 50 alliances are now competing for EU funding and, in addition to their own specific profile, are striving to find solutions for Europe-wide courses and degrees. In Germany, EUAs are particularly prevalent – almost every alliance has a German member university.

One of the EU requirements for these alliances is the inclusion of student perspectives and voices. Together with the Student Board of the EUt+ alliance, we invite you to a networking event in Darmstadt to discuss the status of student participation and to present different concepts. The day’s program will be supplemented here in the following weeks and is aimed at student representatives in Alliance bodies as well as members of the student councils of the Alliance universities?
