Hereby, as persons as well as on behalf of the fzs, we strongly oppose these statements and want to make it very clear that we openly fight the thus implied thinking.
Therefore we want to state clearly that
- we are not proud of German history as a whole,
- we strongly reject any positive connotation of Hitler with German history,
- we oppose the rule of totalitarianism in any possible political situation.
Instead we stand for a critical and open reflection of one’s own national history. Thus we would like to encourage ESU not to be silent about these matters.“
